Built-in Smart Shapes for Custom Navigation

Hi everyone,

I'm using Cp 2017 and I created my own Prev and Next buttons using the master slide but when I added Mute and Rewind buttons using the built-in smart shapes that are available they don't actually look anything like they do in the selection menu.

The Mute smart shape has a mute icon but when I place it on my slide it's just a red square. Same thing with the Rewind smart shape which should be an arrow.  I realize now that this is most likely because I modified my smart shapes in the Objects Manager.

I can't figure out how to adjust this just for these two built-in smart shapes. I clicked on Replace Modified Styles but I didn't see a change. I also clicked the other style options but those aren't it either.

The only other thing I can think of is to create my own icon images for each then use the image fill option for the smart shape button. I really don't want to do that for the sake of time and I feel like there's an easier solution that I'm just overlooking.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Did you ever use the Object Style Manager? Object styles are part of the theme you are using. The 'look' in the Shapes dialog box will be changed to the object style 'Default Smart Shape Style'. That style has included 3 of the 4 Inbuilt states: Normal, Rollover and Down (Visited is missing).  You have the choice: either modify that default Smart Shape style, but it will probably also be used by other shapes, or you create a dedicated style for all your shape buttons, and apply it to them.  I have given up to ask for two separate styles for shapes: one for normal shapes (there are lot more like Title, Subtitle) and one for shape buttons. For the old legacy type of buttons like Transparent, there are many default styles, but sadly not for shape buttons.

In your list I see already a lot of clones of default styles? Please label them, will be easier to manage.

Yes, I used the Objects manager which is why they're just red squares when I place them on the slide. So there's no way to create a separate object style just for these two smart shape buttons? Is that what you're saying?

I didn't say that, I told that you cannot have two different 'default' styles, but you can create a style 'MyShapeButton' where you style all filles and strokes for the 3 InBuilt styles, ad apply that to the buttons?.
