Question

Button doesn't work

Hi,

I`m using Captivate 9 (most recent version) and publish in HTML5.

I have the following problem: I use a SmartShape as a button and I define a Rollover state for it. In the Rollover state I add some objects below the SmartShape (example: I have a transparent SmartShape as a button and in the RolloverState I add an SVG below the transparent SmartShape).

Problem: The button doesn't work on Mac Safari! I have to click several times very fast, only then it reacts! The button works perfectly fine on every other browser. Also any button without additional objects in the Rollover state work on Mac Safari. Additional objects in the Standard state do not cause any troubles.

Is that a known issue? The SmartShape was always on the top layer, this can't be the reason.

I just ran into the same issue.

The buttons are clickable, if I click and drag the mouse before releasing

The problem always occurs when adding additional objects to the rollover state (additional objects in the normal state of the button didn't cause any problems so far).

So what I'm doing now: I use a transparent button. In the normal state I add some (non-transparent) objects with the same size as the button. And then - instead of adding additional objects to the rollover state - I put these objects below the whole button (as extra objects in the timeline). These objects will be visible in the rollover state as the button is transparent.

This does the trick - the button works now and I can define the standard and the rollover state I which way ever I like.

However it's not a good solution as I have additional objects in the timeline which make the project more complicated. So if somebody has a solution without extra objects in the timeline - please let us know!

Sorry, I never use Safari. Hoping that a Mac addict will pop in.
