Button Issue: Link To "Open a File" and "Web Page" in iOS Not Working

Hi there. I am using Captivate 9.0.1.320 for a responsive project to create a SCORM file that is used by an LMS.

We have a PDF file that we would like to be available for users from within a slide. I have tried linking as both a PDF within the root folder (Open a File option) as well as to a Web Page of a PDF file. Both options work on all tested devices except the iPad. Is there a work-around to get a link like this to work?

Side note: the link text is also changing to blue, in iOS only, instead of retaining the chosen color for the link.

Would love any suggestions or comments. Thank you, in advance!

I haven't found this issue anywhere on the web, so I'm really hoping that I'm just doing something wrong... however I have no idea what it could be. Is it a known issue that hyperlinks will not work in iOS when published as HTML5? If anyone has any ideas at all, I'd be really grateful.

Hmmm, I would think a hyperlink is a hyperlink in that bizarro world of HTML 5.

Have you tried the exact same link from the browser? Maybe there's a missing character or something?

Grasping at straws here... Rick

Hi Rick,

Thank you for your response! Yes, I have set up 4 types of URL links- some that point to a webpage hosting a PDF and some that link to a PDF directly within the course (even one that links to a Word doc). These links all work on a desktop and in my Android testing, but none of them work on the iPad. I find it crazy that no one else has documented this (that I can find) you'd think it would be a big deal if its actually true. I appreciate your attempt to help!

Does anyone have any suggestions I could try to get links to work in iOS? I'm pretty desperate and not afraid of work-arounds.
