Button Requires Double Click

Hi All,

I'm hoping someone can help me. I put in a button for a user to click. Subsequently, an effect is applied to a hidden group with an entrance effect. I have the button set to a regular click, but it will only work if double clicked. Is there a way to fix this?

Also, another button also appears that closes the group. What I really want to accomplish is for that button to apply an exit effect the group. I got it to work once, but something was super funky and the object ended up not re-appearing on screen all of the way.

Here is a link to my source file so you can take a look at what I'm working with. Not that only the first icon is set up with the button functionality. Any help you can provide is appreciated.
