I have button in my project but it doesn't function properly. When I preview the project and I click the button nothing happens for a few seconds. Do I need to adjust the timing of it?

What is your Button programmed to do when clicked by the user?

The button is set to continue when clicked. The button is set to pause after 2.5 sec and the entire slide is 5.2 sec long. I have chosen a predesigned button (button style 94x33).

Your button is functioning perfectly normally then.

Hopefully I can help you to better understand what is happening. When the slide with the button appears, you might see action for 2.5 seconds. The slide then pauses. (You said the button was set to pause at 2.5 seconds) You click the button and have to wait another 2.7 seconds to see the next slide. By choosing the action of "Continue", you are instructing the playhead to simply resume and show the rest of the slide duration.

From what you have written here it would seem you wish for an immediate response to clicking the button. And you can have it too. What you need to do is change the button action from "Continue" to "Go to next slide". If you do make this change you will see an immediate action when clicking the button.
