Question

Buttons' Auto Height and Width in Responsive Design

I am having problems re-sizing buttons when placed on responsive grids. I know Captivate comes with auto-height and width options, but I can't find the way to use them on buttons, shapes, and text. The only two options I see when editing buttons is points and percentages. Can someone point me to the right direction?

I changed the general preferences to autosize buttons and texts, but still buttons and shapes do not auto-resize.

Thanks

Important information is missing: which workflow do you use for responsive design? Do you use Breakpoints? In that case the auto options in the Position properties are important. But if you use Fluid Boxes, which is the default workflow when you start a responsive project in the present version, that is not the case. You need to set up the object properly in the Fluid boxes.

The autosize in Preferences is a legacy feature which is meant for non-responsive project. It will just resize captions and buttons in case of text which is longer, nothing more.

    Thanks for replying Lilybiri:

I'm using default fluid boxes with set dimensions. I created a 10x2 grid, where rows are 10% height and two columns (one 35% and another 65%). When viewing on deskptop, buttons look normal, but when changing to Iphone 6/7, the height of buttons is drastically reduced. I have set up butons' height and width 100%. Another option I am exploring is unchecking the maintain aspect ratio. However, in previous projects this option did not give the desired results.

    Sincerely,

Fluid Boxes, but without fluid boxes? How are the FBs set up? Can you post a screenshot of the timeline?
