Buttons to Progress PowerPoint Animations or Pause Points?

Hi All

Hoping someone can help...first time poster!

I have a Captivate project which I'm currently working on. It was imported from PowerPoint. Essentially, I have a number of slides that contain diagrams showing how various servers and subsystems communicate with each other to carry out a task. In PowerPoint, these were created as simple animations on a single slide...i.e. show step 1 of the process, click, step 2 shown, click, step 3 shown, etc. When I imported into PowerPoint, the animations display great but they just go through one after another. I'd like to add narration so that I can talk about step 1 then either have the user click a button to progress to step 2 or just time the narration so that after the talking about step 1 is complete, step 2 will begin with it's narration etc. Are either of these options possible? I had a long Google search but I just can't work it out!

Thanks in advance!

Trying to get animations created in PowerPoint to work properly after importing the PPT deck into Captivate is normally asking the impossible.

You would be well advised to forget about using PowerPoint and just build the animations from scratch in Captivate.  Then you will have complete control over the timing and audio etc.
