Buttons to show and hide smartshapes - Is there an easier way?

Hi,

I'm looking for a shortcut for something that seems to take a fair amount to achieve using my current method.

What I have is say 5 buttons, click one and a smart shape appears with some text in. The button also changes colour so you know what you have clicked on. Click another button the same thing happens and shows another smart shape.

the way I have been achieving this is creating an advanced action for the button which shows the appropriate smart shape for the button, changes the colour of the button and hides all the other smart shape shapes that may or may not be visible depending if the user has clicked any of the other buttons yet.

This works well but takes quite a while to build all the advanced actions. Is there an easier way or am I just being a bit lazy?

    That's pretty much the way to do it, except that you should use a shared action as it is much quicker to edit.

    You could also use rollover-sidelets.

    Rollovers would be my first choice as a lot easier but project needs to be HTML5 unfortunately.

    Which version do you use? Did you try shared actions? Dare to Share - part 1 - Captivate blog    and    Dare to Share - part 2 - Captivate blog   if you are using 7.

    Hi, thanks for the response. I'm using 7 (8 very soon). I'm aware of shared actions but never really took much time to understand them. Will take a look at the links to the blog, would be great if I could save some time (and my sanity) not having to recreate the same advanced actions over and over!
