Question

Can a variable be added to a Text-Entry-Box in Captivate?

Good Morning,

Do Text-Entry-Boxes only allow user's to actively enter text? I have a text-entry-box that will hold a date m/dd/yyyy entry. I would like to be able to have a user click on a button (on a calendar image) that has an advanced action. This advanced action will fill the contents of the text-entry-box with a date variable.   It seems that this is not possible as I am doing it.  I am using Captivate 2017.  I was wondering if there was a better way?

Thank you.

You cannot fill a TEB with a variable, it is meant to get values from a user in the first place.

You can fill the TEB with the value of a variable, using the Assign command, but it will not pop up immediately. For that purpose you can either use the CpExtra widget by InfoSemantics (HTML only) or refresh the slide by re-entering it either with a short dummy slide before that slide to which you navigate, or by micronavigation.

Hello,

Thank you for your response. I have not heard of the CpExtra widget. It has the functionality to insert variables into a TEB?
