Can I create an HTML5 project with CC in Captivate 10?

We are still running Captivate 7 (as we're not doing that many elearning projects). However, our current problem is that no matter whether we create a SWF project or an HTML5 project, the playbar including the closed captions does not appear/work (as they are part of the skin). Closed captions are a requirement for our current project, so we need to be sure that the problem is solved with Captivate 10?

Can anyone answer this with certainty?

Thanx in advance,

Nanna

OK - so if we upgrade to Captivate 2017 - create an HTML5 project with subtitles - it can run on Chrome without problems and with a fully functional playbar including CC?

Sorry all these questions, but if an HTML5 project created using Captivate 2017 is still somehow linked/embedded in SWF, we can't use it.

HTML5 output is totally different from SWF output. You 'll have to check the Projectn HTML5 tracker but the playbar can be used, and you'll be able to have a CC button. You can also create a custom toggle CC button, as explained in this blog post:

1 action = 5 Toggle Buttons - Captivate blog

Yes, the CC work flow has even improved in Captivate 2017. I don't know why you had problems in CP7, if my memory is correct it was functional for me in that version as well.

Sorry, my bad - I'm not explaining this correctly. We DO have working subtitles in our SWF/HTML5 projects in Captivate 7. But as the SWF files are not supported by Chrome, we can't use that format anymore.

We therefore looked at the HTML5 output format, but - as far as we can see - the HTML5 project from Captivate 7, is somehow embedded in the SWF file? Therefore it is not supported by Chrome and many of our users will therefore not be able to run the project.

So - if we upgrade to Captivate 2017, is the HTML5 output acceptable for Chrome (and not embedded in SWF)? And will we be able to have the playbar with the CC options available here as in our 'old' SWF projects?
