Can I eliminate blank space between slides?

Happy New Year! I have a few slides back-to-back with the same image on each, where I recorded different parts of my audio script (I couldn't do it all in one take!). I don't have any transition on between the slides, neither for the slide nor the object in the slides, but still, when I play it back there's a tiny moment between slides where everything goes blank. I also checked and there are no gaps at the beginning or end of the image, it's showing the entire duration of the slide.

Is there any way to avoid these little "blinks" or if not, is there a way for me to combine the audio in these slides together so I can put it in just one slide? Thanks!

    Hi Rick,

Wow! I can't tell you how much I appreciate your help. The changes worked wonderfully. Once I merged the images with the background, the blinking stopped. I really appreciate your other suggestions as well and have implemented them. The advice on deselecting the "continue playing project option" surely saved me a lot of frustration. Thanks so much for your fast and extremely helpful reply.

By the way, is there a way to remove an image from the background if I need to change things later?

    Hi Bob

You might try the following. It would appear that the slides where the blanking occurs, simply have images. Perhaps first off, click File > Save As... to preserve the original. Then make the following adjustments. Right-click the images and merge them into the background. See if that resolves the blinking issue.

I do have a couple of suggestions.

    1. Where you have your information on the "About the author" slide, you mention a web site. As this is playing on the web, why not make the words ads-on-line.com an actual hyperlink? You would do this by formatting the text so it appears like a link (or not-totally up to you) then placing a Click Box object configured to "Open URL or File". Point it to your web site. You would also want to force a new window by clicking the down arrow to the right of where you specify the link and clicking New. Click a second time and ensure you DE-select the "Continue playing project" option.

    2. When you have the back button that returns from the "About the author", I'd probably duplicate slide 3 (or whatever slide you are returning to from slide-Looks like slide 91?) and remove the audio from the duplicated slide. Then point at the duplicate.

    Cheers... Rick

    Hi Bob

Swapping out or erasing a background is a snap. If you look at the Slide Properties dialog, you should see a button labeled "Change background image...". Click this button and you should be able to substitute a different image or use a blank one.

Happy to help if I can... Rick
