Can I mask video so that slide background still shows?

In Adobe Captivate 8 is there a way for me to mask the Captivate video (cpvc) so that the background of the slide will still show? In other words, say there is a square section of the video I took, can I mask that square so that the surrounding video does not show, thus showing the captivate slide background?

Hi there

I'm thinking that you could accomplish this by thinking outside the box a bit. I would try copying the Captivate background. Then modifying it so that a transparent area exists where you want the video to show through. Then insert the modified image onto the slide as a layer above the video.
