Can I move Captivate 5 to a new computer?

Hello all,

I use Captivate 5, and for the time being I'm happy with it and don't wish to upgrade yet. Since my initial purchase was a download, what is the best way to move it to a new computer?

When I log into my account, I see the purchase in my "Product History," but there is only a serial number next to it, and no link to re-download. Am I #@#$-ed? Will this force me to upgrade to Cp 6?

If it matters, I'm running Windows 7.

In Captivate, make sure you are connected to the internet, go to Help > Deactivate and deregister your license on the current computer.

Then install Captivate 5 on the other computer, and when it asks for your license key, use the one you just deregistered from the other computer.

That's my question--when you say "Install Captivate 5 on the other computer..." where do I get it from? I never had a disc for it (since it was a download), and there doesn't appear to be any place where I can download it now.

OK. Now I understand. I didn't realise you didn't have the original install files.

Well unless you are able to locate a friend with a Cp5 disc you may be in trouble.

However, if you were ever going to consider upgrading, today would be a good day to do it because I've just heard the Captivate 7 is being released on June 3. My suggestion to you would be to sign up for the subscription edition. Then you'll always have the latest Captivate version.
