Can I open a captivate 9 project in captivate 8?

I work with Adobe captivate 8 at one location.

When I install captivate 9 on my laptop, can I work on one project in both systems?

Can I open a project that has been worked on in the newer version of adobe captivate (9), in captivate of a lower version (8)?

(given I don't use any features that don't exist in captivate 8).

I suggest Captivate to give a Save as Option and can save atleast one version back.

    So you are saying when can send a rover to Mars but Adobe can't figure out a way to make something backward compatible?

    Hello.

    I used to have the same problem.

    A workaround that has worked for me is openinig the Captivate 9 file and run Captivate 8. You can then copy the slides from Captivate 9 to your Captivate 8 file. This works for most objects like characters, images, text, bullets and so on. However, this doesn't work for buttons, since then seem to get locked and can't be modified.

    But at least most of the work can be moved around between versions.

    HI! have you copied the whole slide or each object separately?

    Somehow it doesn't paste the copied slides(

    Files opened and saved in Captivate 9 will thereafter NOT be compatible with Captivate 8.

    You need to standardise on which version you intend to use.  I suggest you update and go with 9.

      Sorry, but Captivate has always been a one way street. There has never been any way to "Save As" and save to a lower version as you can with Microsoft products.
