Question

Can I use Cp8 "James" voice with Cp7?

I have Captivate 8 on my home computer with the Neospeech TTS voices installed. That includes "James" which is a very nice, rich sounding voice.

On my work computer I have Captivate 7 and downloaded the http://www.adobe.com/go/Cp7_win32_voices_installer for Neospeech voices. This does NOT include "James."

Is there something product/version specific that prevents me from adding Cp8 James to an instance of Cp7 with Neospeech?

I have tried copying the VT directories associated with James in Cp8 over to the comparable folders in Cp7 but it did not work.

Is there a registration process or something else that could be done to make this work?

Can I use the Cp8_win32_voices_installer on top of Cp7?

Or, it is just not compatible and James will not work with Cp versions prior to 8?

Thanks!

I would also like to have the James voice available to my Captivate 7 projects. I have the full versions of CP7 and 8 installed on my Windows machine, but cannot get the James voice to work in CP7; even though it shows as an option in the Text-to-Speech window, it produces a tinny female voice that is clearly not what I hear when played from CP8. What's the secret to making this work?
