Can't Edit library image in Photoshop =(

I just installed Captivate 2

After recording my first demo, I tried to edit the slide (the "background" image in the library using the EDIT IN command. This command opens MSPaint (gahh! what a horrible program!). There is no way that I can see to tell it to open Photoshop.

By the way, in the tutorial on editing your show that comes with the program, the movie shows Photoshop being opened.

In this Online Article , there is a "note" that the external program is set during installation, but no such set-up was offered me.

Please help me to make PHOTSHOP my editor. Thanks! =D

    Hi Monoxylon,

I'll jump in here in case Rick is offline. You need to right click over the name of the image in the Library, not over the Edit With button. Once you right click over the name in the Library you will see a menu option "Edit with...".

Thanks Captiv8r (Rick), for the quick response. As it turns out, I tried right-clicking on the Edit With button... but nothing happened (and I tried it again just now).

Any thoughts? I love Photoshop... and MSPaint just makes me cry.

Hi Monooxylon and welcome to our community

Try right-clicking and selecting "Edit with...". This should allow you to browse to where PhotoShop is installed and choose it. Once you do this, Captivate should remember the setting and use it from there forward.

Also, keep in mind that the editor can be different for different image types. For example, .BMP images may open using MSPaint, .GIF open using FireWorks and .JPG open using PhotoShop. But you get to choose what opens with what.

    Cheers... Rick
