Can't import text captions. Captivate simply closes.

Hi!

I'm working on translating a few courses created by the global team and shared with each country for translation but my Captivate simply closes and shows the message "Captivate closed unexpectedly" when trying to import the .doc file I exported earlier.

I'm working with macOS Catalina (10.15.7), Captivate 2019 (11.5.5.676), and MS Word for mac and already tried:

1 - Changing nothing in the .cptx file after exporting the .doc file (the exporting process works perfectly).

2 - Preserving the original .doc file, only pasted the translated text.

3 - Preserving the original .doc file, only typing the translated text.

 

And even doing other tips given here at the community couldn't get to the point of importing anything, every time I get to 96% Captivate closes "unexpectedly" and reopens with no changes.

Check that you do not have any odd special characters in the document that you are importing. I have had issues with that in the past.

Have you tried making sure that MS Word is already open on your computer BEFORE you attempt to do the import?

Hi!

 

Yes, I tried with it already open and tried with it closed, when I click on import and the word file is closed it opens by itself and it shows the importing box, but Captivate always closes when it reaches 96%.
