Can't keep first background from displaying throughout the project

I have a project that uses a different background image for the first slide. I'm not using a master slide.

When I look at any slide, I see the correct background, but when I paly the the project, all of the following slides use the background image from the first slide.

I can go into a slide and click "reset master slide" and have it fix itself. But, as soon as I make any changes in the project, the phantom image appears again.

I saw someone with a similar problem talking about unselecting "use image for rest of project" but I don't see that option. The image isn't brought in as an image - it's just the slide background.

I'm a new user to Adobe Captivate 6.

I was the same person who had the "display for project issue" but I think I also had this issue before as well.  I seem to have a knack for these sorts of thing.

I had intially ingested most of my work from Powerpoint and the power point slides ended up like a flat image background.  I couldnt' do anything with them so I started recreating some of the project in Captivate directly.  The background I used in Powerpoint was the same one I wanted for some of my slides in Captivate so I added it as an image to the slide directly and haven't had the issue since.

If the issue is the background of that one slide and it is like what i just mentioned, I'd remove that slide and then add the background as an image on a blank slide and crecreate it.  The other option I can think of is to add that image (background) to another master slide and use it for that particular slide.

Figured I'd shoot out that for you.  It may or may not help but nothing worse than feeling like you're in limbo.
