Can't remove swatch manager

Hello,

While working on a video project with a saved style reused in a new project on a different PC, the Swatch Manager window opened with the Properties tab.  When you close the Properties tab the Swath Manager remained.  If I go to the Window menu, I don't see Swatch Manager on the list (thus I don't see it selected).  I've looked every I can think and even tried drap-drag of the Swatch Manager tab (I know I was dreaming), closed the application and reopened, and nothing changes.  A basic thing, but I can't find how to close this right side panel.  (I also looked in the old Captivate help manual for Cap 8, which it would be great that they do an updated manual.  Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi, I went to your blog and thought about that, but when I went to the link on the newbie UI on the Adobe sight, either they changed something or I just couldn't find anything about this Newbie UI.  Thanks, I'm going to do that.

OK, there was no "Classic" anywhere on the screen and even a pro user of Adobe Illustrate agrees that this app is perhaps buggy.  Where do I find the workspace settings (on 9)?  I think we have a user who might have changed the standard settings (while trying to the learn the app) and thus reconfigured the workspace.  My coworker who' the pro user finally got rid of it by opening and closing the project loads of times.  That said, this isn't normal.  Also as a side note is it normal for Captivate to be very slow to open and respond when creating files (ex. like a video)?

This is a screenshot of the top right corner of my screen in CP, there are several workspaces because I'm in Expert UI:

Can you check your version number? It should be 9.0.2.437.

Please clear the Preferences, if you suspect corruption. Find the CleanPreferences file appropriate for your OS in the subfolder 'utils' under the installation folder. Run it while CP is closed.

Do you run Captivate as Administrator if you are on Windows? Is everything happening on your system, not on a networked drive? Be sure to clear the cache regularly as well, it grows quickly.

I suspect you are in the Newbie UI?  Some panels only appear in the Window menu when you are in the Expert UI.

Did you try to reset the Workspace? You have only one, the Classic. That  name should appear top right of your screen, open the dropdown list and choose the Reset Classic.
