Can't select the screen area for software simulation demo

I'm trying to do a software simulation but can't change the settings to allow me to select either screen area or application.  The only setting that comes up is "select a window to record".  It is showing the screen resolution is currently fixed at 1280 x 720.  

I'm sure there is a simple solution to this but I can't see it.

    Are you by chance in an existing project and choosing to record additional slides? Or are you trying to create a new project?

    I'm in an existing project.

    That explains why. Once a project has been created, the recording area has to match the existing project dimensions.

    I suppose you could create a new project and record into that one, then try copying and pasting the slides from that into this one, but the results may be odd given they would be two different sizes.
