Question

Can you edit the slides when you use software simulation?

I did a demo recording using software simulation. The rollovers are stored in the slide when the recordings are made. Is there any way to edit in that slide to change or alter the rollover. I can get the slide and bring it into photoshop but it will not let me see the rollover in photoshop. When I bring it back in my changes will  be on the slide but I still have the rollover. I want to alter the rollover too.

This has been an issue for many years with Captivate when doing slide-by-slide capture.  The rollover you see is actually an extra layer in the graphic that is not editable.

The best way to avoid these issues is to always do an extra manual capture of the rollover so that you have at least one capture of the slide without the rollover, and then another of the same slide that shows the rollover.  This gives you the option then to use a graphic editor (e.g. Photoshop) to crop the graphic down to just the rollover area and add this as a separate object to the slide so that you can animate it to appear at the correct moment.  Alternatively, you can use it in a rollover image or button state.
