Can you export a .srt closed captioned file from Captivate 8?

When I try to export it gives me a Word file that doesn't have any time stamps. Thanks!

From everything I've seen it isn't possible to export closed captions to .srt. As an alternative I'm hoping someone has come up with a way to convert the closed captions Word file to an srt file. Any takers?

I have trouble understanding why closed captions export is in such an unwieldy, confusing, and rather useless format. Actual timestamps could be imported into all kinds of other tools, for subtitling, voice/audio (e.g. Audition), video etc. (Half the time my closed captions export to a blank file. Still a mystery.)

All Adobe media tools should at the VERY LEAST have .srt import-export functions, especially as it is so easy to programme and it is the most ubiquitous and simple. It's just a basic text file, but it would open the doors for efficient localisation - and globalisation - of Adobe content.

If you're still reading this, Mark, copy-paste from Word to .txt then import to Subtitle Edit (FREE software that CAN import/export into 200+ formats, including customised formats - that's how easy it is to do!) but you'll have to do the timing again.
