Question

Can you make an animation arrow stop moving after initial animation?

Man, I hope that makes sense. I've got a couple of SWF arrows in my Captivate Version 4 project. However, the arrows need to appear part way through the slide, and all of that looping animation is distracting to the viewer. What I'd like is to have the arrow appear, perform its animation cycle once, then remain as a static image of an arrow for the remainder of the slide. Is this possible, and, if so, how is it done? I've not yet seen how to pause an animated arrow and I have other items firing on the slide, so pausing the slide at the conclusion of the animation isn't an option either.

Thanks, O Brilliant Captivators!

Krista

Another option could be that you adjust your animation in Flash and make it stop after one loop.

    Than import your adjusted animation.

    Hi Helga

Yep, that would certainly do it!

    ...if you have Flash available.

...and you know how to use it.

Thanks! I don't have Flash nor do I know how to use it so I'll use the screen shot option, which is what I considered originally.

    You're awesome--thanks again!

    Hi there

You should be able to achieve this. What I would do is to grab a screen capture of the arrow at the final position. Then layer that in above the animation. The timing may be a bit on the tricksy side. You may be well advised to make the image large enough so it just fades in and totally covers the animation. That way you can get sorta close on timing.

    Hopefully this helps... Rick
