Question

Can you remove the "Highlight box" / "Click box" captions that appear inside them?

Hi there.

I'm working on some system tutorial modules in Captivate 7, which include a lot of click boxes and highlight boxes. Is there any way to get rid of the "Highlight box" / "Click box" captions that appear inside them when you're editing a project? Although this isn't a major issue, it can be rather frustrating, as it covers the text underneath it, which sometimes I need to see to include in callout boxes.

Here's an example of what I mean:

In this example, if I forget what the text says I need to move the highlight and click boxes to be able to read it.

As I say, not a massive issue, but it seems like something that should be easy to do and would make things quicker and easier. I've had a look in the preferences, but can't find anything.

Thanks.

This would be really helpful, where you can see the text or button and adjust the highlight. Though there is no option to hide it, if the font of the text is reduced or if the text is positioned on the indise or outside corners in stead of center, would be of some help to reveal what's behind it.

Please, this thread has almost 10 years. Can you start a new thread and explaing what you want? It may be already available since quite a lot of versions have appeared since 2014.

I understand, I posted it here as there is already a thread on the same topic. It is about the same option on hiding or having options to manage the text inside the highlight and I haven't yet found an option to manage it. Any insights on whether this option now exists would help. Thank you.

The click box is invisible to the user when published, that cannot be an issue.

For the highlights, you should have checked the Preferences, Recording, Modes: there is the possibility to uncheck the option:

In an already finished tutorial you'll have to change the style of one of the Highlight boxes, and the save that as the default style that will be applied to all the Highlights in your project

If these are not highlight boxes and click boxes added during a simulation capture (as Lieve is referring to) then I suggest you change over to using Smart Shapes instead.  You can set them to do exactly the same job as a smart shape or even a click box (by setting the fill and stroke options to make them invisible or faded), but you won't have the same text superimposed on the Edit screen.
