Can you use Captivate to take a software simulation of Captivate?

I am trying to create a demonstration of how to use Captivate that I can include in a training session.  I have a single user license for CP 8.0.1, but I (obviously) cannot select Captivate as the application window when recording.

How are the Adobe Captivate tutorials created?  Trying to determine if I have the software/methodology available or if I will need to just create a series of screen shots.

I may be able to demo it live, but was hoping to have it "canned" before standing in front of a group.

I created quite a lot of Captivate tutorials with Captivate, mostly interactive. Just open two instances of Captivate. You even have the choice: either a normal cptx-file or a video demo recording.

Boy, do I feel stupid.  I use that trick all the time when working with MS Excel and using dual monitors to compare different documents.

Never thought to apply it in this instance.

Hi there

I'm guessing that if you wanted to record the process of recording, you would then have to use the Video Demo type of recording to record the process of Captivate recording in the "Stop Motion Animation" mode of recording? (Demonstration/Assessment Simulation/Training Simulation)

Unless something has changed, in older versions of Captivate, the recording process would gag when trying to use a second instance of the recorder to capture the first instance of an actual recording process.

Would this be known as "inception" recording?
