In looking at this product, use in demonstrating/teaching software and sales product demos is highlighted. Is anyone out there using this product to create self paced learning in the "softskill" area - interpersonal skills, management training, etc.? If so, what how useful has the product been?

    Hi Katie,
Welcome to this community. I noticed you have not yet had a response, so I will give you my take on it.

I use CP for virtually any training that can be either Computer/Web based or presentation based. I use it for training staff on systems and policies/procedures for both management and HR and also for general learning.

Of course it is also used for IT Based training, but I believe it can pretty much be used for any training purpose you wish, within it's capabilities. I think of it as a mini Authorware type product, as in it does all the basics very well and has a relatively low learning curve compared to the likes of Flash and Authorware or even Director, IMHO of course

While it may be relatively low in the learning curve stakes, it has much more power and ability under the hood than you first think

I'm also going to chime in.

I am currently developing an orientation program for new managers at my organization, which is completely soft skills, using Dreamweaver and Captivate. I'm mostly using Dreamweaver, but for the interactive elements (quizzes, etc.) I am using Captivate since the learning curve is low, as Rossco mentioned, and other members of my team, who are not strict developers as I am, can jump in and develop some interactive elements, as well.

    FWIW,
    Maureen
