Question

Cannot move mouse on timeline

Hello,

I made a software recording with Captivate 9.

I am having some trouble with the mouse on the time timeline.  The issue that seems to be a constant issue across all slides with the mouse object is that when I attempt to move the mouse to the end of the timeline, it bounces back towards the middle.  The entire slide tends to be a lot longer than the mouse path because I added audio to the slide, so the mouse starts somewhere in the middle and I try to move the mouse to the end of the slide, or at least as close to the end as possible despite this bounce effect.

On one particular slide, I have attempted to move the mouse to almost-the-end (can't move it all the way to the end of the timeline because it will ricochet back), and it won't stay there on save!  If I save the project the mouse takes its orignal position in the middle of the slide.

Any thoughts?

Hi There,

Greetings from Adobe.

Can you please check if your Captivate 9 is updated to the latest patch i.e. is 9.0.2.437 by going to Help menu >About Adobe Captivate? If it is not then you may update Cp 9 by going to Help menu> Updates and then check the issue.

You may also try to adjust the timing of the mouse by selecting it and go to its timing properties and check if you were able to change the mouse timings from there. You may also check by creating a new software simulation in order to identify whether the issue occurs with a specific project or with others as well.

I would also like to mention that you may try to recreate the Captivate preferences by navigating to 'C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 9 x64\utils' and run CleanPreferencesWin.bat file and then launch Captivate and see if that resolves the issue.

Note- Once you recreated the Captivate preferences then the recent project list will get cleared, however you can navigate to the location where the project has been saved and open it from there.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,

Ajit
