Cannot Open Project Preview in Captivate 9 on Mac

I'm not able to preview Project in Captivate 9 on a Mac using Chrome as default browser.  The error I receive is "cannot open document".  I have not upgraded to the High Sierra.  I still have Sierra.  I have the most current version of 9.  I've tried changing default browser to Firefox and Safari and still having same issue.

Are you on a responsive or a non-responsive project?

Yes, it is a responsive project and I have the most recent updates for Captivate 9.  I can sometimes view 5 slides but not the entire project and sometimes not even one slide.

I'd like to upgrade to the current version of Captivate since I have an online subscription, but my co-worker will also need to work in these files eventually, but only has Captivate 9.  I'm concern there maybe compatibility issues if one of us is using 9 and one is using the latest version.

You can have both CP9 and CP2017 with a subscription license. There will be compatibility issues: CP2017 can open CP9 files, but not the reverse.

What you experience is due to HTML5, which is really meant only to be viewed after publishing and uploading to a webserver. A temporary HTML file is created for the Previews, but doesn't work all the time on all browsers. CP10 (2017) has the same problems, but there is an easier workflow for semi-responsive projects than the Breakpoint views which are fully responsive but take a lot more hours to create and test.
