Cannot paste buttons to new slides?

This seems like something that should be REALLY easy but it isn't. I am trying to copy 3 buttons I want on every slide from the first slide to all other slides. For some reason I can copy them but I cannot paste them. The paste option is greyed out on every slide when I try to copy them. WHAT IS GOING ON??? This should be very simple!!!

Problem solved. The project appears to be corrupted because I upgraded from 8 to 9 while working on it. Basically had to start all over again. Is it me or is Captivate kind of broken?

Why don't you time those buttons for the rest of the project if you want them on each slide? It is only possible with shape  buttons (they can also be used on master slides) but that saves a lot of work (and objects).

BTW, I am working in Captivate 9 on Mac.
