Cap 5 crashes on new project

I am unable to create a new project. I'm running Cap 5.0.1 on WinXP. I have reinstalled twice, and no luck. I have cleared the cache manually as opening anything from the preferences dialogue also causes a crash. I can open an existing project, record, save, and publish (so far) but not being able to create a new project is cutting into my productivity. My EIT department can't help me for another several days.

For the time being, I had a co-worker make me a blank project and we'll see how that works out.

Does anyone out there have an idea to patch this bug? Is there any more information I can get to help (and how)?

Marking as answered since I fixed my own problem :P

Actually, After considering the Preferances dialogue's problem, I figured the problem might reside there, and not with file creation. So, I went to C:\Documents and Settings\MyUserName\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe and deleted the whole Captivate 5 folder. Works like a dream now. So, for anyone who has this problem, give it a whirl. All of your defaults will need to be reset, but it's well worth the sacrifice to actually be able to build sims again.
