published html includes a control panel to pause, backup, etc.  Why can't I display the current time and total time for my module ? I don't see how to do this. This would be very helpful for the elearner.

Ok so now I'm running up against this as well - I have been specifically asked to leave OUT the TOC, but they want the elapsed time to be available.  Is there any way to do this?  Lilybiri's solution isn't one I'm looking for.  I realize that there is a Flash toolbar, and we may need AS3 to fix this, but does anyone have an actual code fix for it???

If you want to display the current time on the slide, check out this post: http://www.infosemantics.com.au/adobe-captivate/template/02-dynamic-date-functions

Probably the simplest way to show the elapsed time is just to use the Timer Interaction that ships with Captivate.

On the playbar Time is displayed graphically by the progress bar, not in numbers. If you use the TOC, the time (as in edit mode) will be displayed and the elapsed time. If you want to show either the 'editor' time or the real time spent on the course, you could find inspiration in my blog post, that Sreekanth mentioned:
