Can Captivate 3 files be opened in captivate 2?

    Hi Phil

    No, Captivate doesn't create files that are backward compatible. About the best you could do would be to open Captivate 2 and 3 side by side. Then copy slides and objects from Captivate 3 and paste into Captivate 2.

    Of course, if you do this, you will want to ensure the Captivate 2 project is sized identically as well as noting that features unavailable in version 2 won't be understood.

    Is it accurate to say that if we create an inventory of tutorials in Captivate 3, and we eventually need to make some updates. If we are using a newer version of Captivate, we will not be able to update all of those tutorials in the new version of Captivate? That doesn't make much sales sense to me...and in fact, it could prevent us from buying Captivate.

    And if you copy slides from the old version to the new one, does it also copy mouse movements?
