Cap4 Table of Contents - 2 issues

I've been trying out Cap4 and working with the new table of contents. Two issues:

I can suppress the time duration for individual slides, but not the summary project duration... Anyone found a solution to this?

I can't change the "Slide Title" title at the top of the TOC. I can only add extra titles using the Info settings. Since the slides represent the start of "Sections" in my projects, it would be nice to be able to change this titling... Anyone found a solution to this?

Thanks.

There is a nice widget for suppressing the summary duration in the TOC over at the raisingaimee site.

    http://www.raisingaimee.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=118:hidetoctime&catid=31:captivate-4&Itemid=55

    Hope that helps,

Yeah - I'm with RoboWizard on previous TOC versions - they were too limited and not much better than that horrid "MenuBuilder" atrocity : )

While I'd rather the entire TOC be customizable (like disabling the total time, for example), it's still pretty darn good.

Ther master time at the bottom seems to be hard coded and I noticed that when testing.

The titles... The INFO button on the TOC settings screen will let you put in your own title. My TOC's all have custom titles. Under Info it is the NAME field. there is an Advanced option in the lower left to change the font size, color, bold, Etc. You can also embed an image / Logo

Like Steve said, use the GROUP option in the thumbnails and the Group Headers will appear in the TOC. You MUST refresh the TOC if you make any changes. Once you get the TOC refreshed, just turn off the slides that you want to hide. Sounds like you want just the Group headers and then turn off the slides that are in the Group in the TOC.

No, the Name field simply ADDS a title to the TOC. Below it you will still see the Slide Title, Status, and Duration column headers. I don't want the word "slide" in the header as I will not be listing each and every slide in my project, just the slides that are at the beginning of each of my "sections"... which is what I want the TOC to show--"sections," not individual slides, not groups of slides. As I've said, I have figured out how to hide the non-"section" slides, and that suits my purpose just fine. The headers for the columns seem to be hardcoded and I will just have to deal with that.

    Hi there

You should consider advising the Captivate development team that you desire to change these areas. This is done using the Wish Form.

Click here to view the WishForm/Bug Reporting Form

The more folks that suggest the same thing, the more likely it is that we will see it appear in a future release!

    Cheers... Rick

Not sure I completely understand you, but maybe this will help.

If you have sections, use the Group option to group the slides of each
section togther. Name the groups with appropriate names.

When you do this, your TOC should automatically build with a section link
and sub-page links that are indented.

No, I do NOT want display every slide, rather I want to list the first slide of each "section" in my file with it's slide name equal to the section name. That's easy enough, However, at the top of the list of slides there is a seemingly hardcoded header of "Slide Title"--I want to retitle this to something more appropriate, like "Section"...

Also, I can easily suppress the time duration for each slide, even eliminating that column entirely, but the TOC still displays a total time duration for the file at the bottom of the TOC... How can I suppress that?
