Captivate 10 (2017) cannot preview or publish after upgrade
Hi All,
I am running a Windows 10 laptop with 8GB RAM and an Intel i7 processor and recently upgraded to Captivate 10.0.0.192.
From the moment of upgrade, I can no longer run any type of preview or publish my project.
I am trying to create a HTML5 project. I upgraded the project and when I noticed the preview wasn't working, I figured it had a corrupt object in it somewhere. Unable to track it down, I re-built the project from scratch entirely in Captivate 10.
The brand new project doesn't preview in Edge, IE or Chrome, or when published and uploaded to the LMS - the behaviour is the same.
In the HTML 5 in browser preview I get the buffering symbol.
In any of the Flash based previews (project, next 5 slides, etc.) I get either random elements partially visible, a clicking sound, bits of a skin (not the one selected for the project), or a dialog that 'no sufficient memory resources to preview the file. Externalize the Adobe Captivate resources in the SWF file and try again.' (NOTE: This is a HTML5 project however and there are no Flash elements in it. I have verified this with the HTML tracker.)
I have read the forum and tried many of your suggestions, including:
- Reinstalling Captivate
- Hiding the slides and re-enabling them one-by-one to identify a corrupt object
- Rebuilding the project
- Trying a different browser
- Trying to run the project on a server/LMS
- Turning off advanced project compression (even though I'm publishing to HTML5)
- Clearing my project cache
- Trying anything, really...
I also tried a responsive project, which previews somewhat, but none of the master slide elements are visible and it tends to break after a few slides.
What on earth is wrong with the application?
Any further suggestions will be gratefully received at this point. I really wish I hadn't upgraded, but unfortunately the Captivate 9 application no longer runs when I try to launch it either so I'm stuck with this now.
