Captivate 12.4: “Go to slide” buttons with none transition effect, don’t open slides in top position

Hi.

In Captivate 12.4.0.20 (not classic), At the bottom of each slide I have set up previous and next buttons, but I have a problem: I don’t want to have a transition effect (like slide, flip, etc.), so I choose “None”, but by doing so, the slides that the buttons go to, does not start in top position.

I would very much like the slides to start on top, without using the transition effects. Anyone have a working solution for this?

Thanks.

Ben

Noting that this is still a bug in the latest version, with the identical steps to reproduce.

You can use the transitions and set the duration of the transition to 0.2 (Very fast), that way it goes back to the top and the transition is to fast to observe so it doesnt look like there is a transition to begin with. I recommend just using the same transition for each of the slides so the learner doesnt notice anything different.

Hi again. Here is a short video capture of the described behavior:

I'm clicking on Next Button with transition effect set to "None", resulting in destination slide not opening in top position, making it a bad user experience. If I put on a transition effect, then the slides start on top - however, I don't like any of the transition effects; looks choppy in our LMS, no matter how much I optimize the media in this project.

    greetings

I suspect that the destination slides opens in the same y-position as the ones you left.

If this is the same issue as what it's the video below I'm not sure that can be changed. What's in the video is pre-built as a widget interaction so there is limited editing/adjustability to it. If you didn't want any transition effects you'd likely need to build it on your own using the image feature, buttons, and state changes.

I am having this same issue! Commenting to keep this post active. I've also provided an example video of this happening in my project.
