Captivate 12 Theme Issues

For clarity I'm seeing this on versions 12.0.0.2892 and 12.1.0.16 and it's been occuring since the official release. Here are some issues I've experienced:

  • Frequently when importing my custom theme into a new project, Captivate tells me the theme is already imported but is very clearly not.
    • I've tried exporting/importing my theme to/from both network drives and my desktop. I see the same random behavior regardless of save location.
    • My best workaround at the moment is to just keep saving copies of existing courses with the correct theme and building new slides in there.
  • There are elements that remain the default blue color regardless of a custom theme, e.g. Carousel progress dots and Flipcard icons. It appears to be Color 8 in the Color Configuration, and it would be ideal for these items to reflect whatever our theme Color 8 actually is.
  • Since there's only one button customization option for buttons, certain widgets don't use the custom theme. See the Tab Widget as an example. The tabs use my theme color for the normal state but revert to the Light theme alternate button options for the built-in states. It is incredibly annoying to have to change the states every time.

I'm including some screenshots. If this needs to be submitted as a feature request I'll do it (but I'm not sure how to!)

I was very worried about the deprecation of the Theme in the new version. Not only the loss of the master slides, bu also the fact that there are no object styles, only text styles. That is why you encounter the issues with the buttons and their states. You should use Copy/Paste all the time, but that is IMO not very professional. Moreover, in previous versions it was possible to have a custom theme applied to the widgets/learning interactions, but that is gone as well. You are not the first user to complain about this. Please log a bug report or a feature request. You can do it from Captivate, under the Help menu you have the option to provide feedback.

I've submitted a couple now. Thank you for your assistance.

To be perfectly honest, the robustness of the classic Captivate Theme Manager was a bit overwhelming for me. I really struggled to figure out where every single element would be applied (but I didn't use classic for very long). I like the simplicity of the new Theme Editor, but I just wish it worked. Just having the option to apply colors and fonts to ALL elements would solve my problem.
