Captivate 2017 - formatting text

Hi

I'm struggling to see how I format my text (in terms of spacing between lines of text) when creating knowledge check slides?

I can see the 'spacing' feature when on a standard slide but nothing similar on a knowledge check.  I'm assuming I don't have to do this manually...??

Many thanks

Kim

I suspect you talk about spacing in the answer area? In the Quizzing Master slides, which are used also for KC slides, you can style most text areas, with one big exception: the individual answers are not availalable in those master slides which is such a ptiy.  You only have the answer area, which is the container for the individual answers, but you don't have spacing there. That means that you have indeed to change the spacing in answers manually , and space the individual answers manually as well. That is a big pain, formatting of quiz and KC slides should hopefully get some refurbishing in a next release. Please, add your voice by logging a request.

    Hi, Kim.

Are you trying to change the line spacing of the answers on a knowledge check slide? By selecting individual answers (either alone, or together by holding down CTRL), I could change the spacing in the same place as I can for regular captions (under Properties > Style > Character). The only knowledge check question type I couldn't find the setting for is "short answer."

If you select the box with the faint blue outline around the answers, you will only get the properties for the "answer area," not the text properties for the answers. Perhaps this is your issue?

EDIT: Woops, I wrote my post as Lilybiri was writing hers! Sorry, don't mean to step on anyone's toes

No problem, formatting answers should be possible on the master slides, but is missing.  I really hope formatting of quiz slides once get on the list of features to improve.

Yes, that would be very helpful!

I can see on the master slide that you can edit the spacing of the lines within a single answer (so that if the answer is more than one line there is greater space between them). That spacing gets applied to question slide, but you still have to resize the answers and move them around to show the full, multi-line answer.

I wish it was smart enough to know that if you have a long answer, you don't want it to get cut off
