Captivate 2019 - Audio playing double after video demo published

Hi, I have published a demo video (done this many times before) in Captivate 2019. However, when reviewing the published video (it is for training purposes), in sections, I can hear the trainers voice twice, talking over herself. I cleared the background audio after I recorded the training. I've subsequently gone back to the recording and checked and cleared the background audio (there was nothing there) and republished. I can still hear the "voice over" in the background, despite all of this. Can someone please provide me with advice on how to remove the doubled up audio / voices. I need to get this training video out to users asap. Many thanks.

Do you mean a Video demo, with extension cpvc? Rod Ward did understand that you are on a normal cptx project.

When editing the Video demo, and splitting in clips, it happens sometimes that the clips do have an overlap and that could cause the problem you have. It is the reason I learned to have a small gap between clips covered eventually by a static object. If this is a normal cptx-project look for what Rod suggested. That is also the case for a software simulation in Demo mode. I am bit confused by your mention of 'background' music.

Turns out that when I trimmed the video demo, it didn't delete an audio clip and somehow it played over an existing audio clip. Once I identified the audio, I was able to remove it 😊

That was indeed what I suspected because I had similar experiences with splitting and trimming. You were indeed talking about a Video Demo. It has some unwanted quirks like the End not being synchronizes when you trim out parts of the video.

This could be due to having the same audio clip being used for slide as well as object level audio.

In Captivate, go to Audio > Audio Management.

In the Advanced Audio Management dialog, select the Show Object Level Audio box.

Go down through all of the audio clips by selectin each line and listening to each one until you find the audio that is being duplicated. Look for multiple instances of the same audio clip. It could be that you have the same clip being used for slide audio as well as object audio on the same slide. If you can find the object that is using the slide audio, then you can remove the duplicate playback.

Turns out that when I trimmed the video demo, it didn't remove the audio clip. I was able to identify and remove the offending audio 😊
