Captivate 2019 audio will not play on 1 slide only when published to an mp4 video

I have published my captivate project to an .mp4 video. The Captivate project was created from Power Point. All 15 slides have narration. All slides play the narration during the project preview. When the project is published to video, only slide 8 does not play the audio.  I've attempted to publish it several times. I even re-recorded the audio and it doesn't make a difference. Slides 1 - 7 and 9 - 15 all play audio. Can anyone help me with a work around for this issue? Thanks.

Was audio added in Captivate? Did you leave a small gap before and after the audio timeline like this?

Did you test with Preview HTML in Browser?

Thank you for getting back with me so quickly 🙂 Yes, audio was added in Captivate. No, I did not leave a small gap in the timeline between the audio as illustrated in your screenshot. I have never done this with any other Captivate project. Yes, I did preview the project in the HTML browser and the audio played for all slides. The auido also played in the timeline.

The other slides do not have the small gap either. For some reason, Captivate did not like that 1 slide. To troubleshoot, I duplicated a slide that played the audio without a problem (slide 7) and changed the content to match the content on the original slide 8. I then deleted the audio for slide 7 and re-recorded the audio for slide 8. I saved the project with a new name and republished the video. This was a long way around this issue but it seems to have solved the problem. The audio now plays on slide 8 in addition to the other 14 slides.

It is possible that something got corrupted on that particular slide of course, which explains why the long workaround did solve the problem.

What I showed about the gaps is a good practice to avoid that Captivate 'sees' the audio files as part of one long project audio file. Personally I always use that approach and it has helped many other users as well. Although apparently not for this issue.
