Captivate 2025 – Audio Not Syncing After Publish

I synced narration perfectly in the timeline, but once I publish, the audio drifts slightly out of sync with animations.
Tried both HTML 5 and MP4 outputs — same issue.
Anyone else run into this? Any tips to fix audio lag in the published version?

This issue is usually related to the download of the audio files causing a lag because by the time they start playing the animation on the slide has already begun.

You can test whether this is the case by simply allowing the slide to play to just before the end and then jumping back to the beginning of the slide again.  If the playback is then in perfect synch, your issue is due to the time it takes for the audio to load.

Best practice is to keep your slides as short as possible because Captivate loads audio when it reaches each slide.  It does not load all assets required for the entire module at the beginning.

I’ll try the playback test you suggested to confirm if the lag is due to audio loading.
