Is there not a menu-builder in this version? Idownloaded the tiral, then the company purchased the upgrade, and Ipunched my keycode into the trial version. I then ran adobe updates. Still no menubuilder? Ifthis is not in the program anymore, what is a comparable way to deliver a "menu" without menubuilder?

For my part, you are welcome Jeremy.

Seth, you can do that, kind of ...

    1) Close Captivate (this is the key)

    2) Copy your custom text-caption to Captivate's default folder

    3) Restart Captivate

    4) Set Global options from main UI (Options > Recording Options > Recording Defaults > Edit Settings > Select Caption Style)

Note: The "default" chosen will remain the same, regardless of the call-out (pointer) needed. For that reason, you must be sure that your naming conventions are the same as those used in Captivate. That is, the caption style containing no callout (round or rectangle with no pointer or arrow) must always be "1" when you name your own custom text-box ... ie "AdobeBlue1", "LarrysWood1", etc.

The reason I mention it is because I have a bunch of text-boxes created in RoboDemo days, and at some time thereabouts, the "1" caption denoted the "upper-left" callout. So when I copy some of mine over to newer versions, all my callouts are pointing up-and-left because I've been too lazy to change them to conform to the newer versions of Captivate.

Hope that makes sense to you Seth. If not, let me know, but it may be a while b4 I get back as I'm on the road this week. Later, mate!

    Larry,
Thanks a lot. The only thing I didn't know (or try) was numbering them. I added a 1 at the end, and it's working just fine now.
    Thanks again and Bon Voyage.
    Cheers,
    Seth

    Seth - ooops ... I didn't see you typing there ....

Funny I missed the new location during beta, but thanks for pointing it out. I never use it, so I guess that part never got into my work-flow during testing. Thanks again!!

    Hi there Lar,

    Glad to see you again.
Larry, I've been trying to assign my own captions to the global settings without success.
    Got two cents?

Hmmmph. Never noticed it was missing until you mentioned it. Go to the main folder for Captivate 3 and create a shortcut to "menubuilder.EXE". That should take care of it for you.

For some reason, the MenuBuilder functionality (program) is included in the download, but the link to it has been left off of the Captivate 3 trial uiser-interface.

    Your default path is:
    C:\ Program Files \ Adobe \ Adobe Captivate 3 \ menubuilder.exe

Thanks for pointing it out - hopefully the developers will correct that in the release version.

    G'day!

    Jeremy,
It's still there, but the location is different. Click File-->Record/Create-->Menubuilder Project on the Main Menu.
    Cheers,
    Seth
