Captivate 3 correctly interacting with an LMS - any LMS?

Guys

I wonder if any of you can help? We have been labouring with the Oracle OLM for some time now (in testing) to try to get it to work with both Captivate and another package (Articulate) but the tracking functionality isn't up to scratch (for lots and lots and lots of different reasons) and my client wants me to try to ensure that the 2 packages actually work with an LMS - any LMS - but a major brand if possible.

I am looking at, among others,

Moodle

Oracle

SumTotal

SABA

Cobent

do any of you have any positive experience with these LMS/LCMS's (or any others) and Captivate, and if so can we possibly have a discussion "off line".

I have the same problem with publishing my courses with branching to my LMS (Plateau). If there is no branching in the couse it works fine and bookmarks and marks as complete. But as I include branching and simulations it will not mark as complete and move to the learners history. I just stays on the learning plan as not completed. This is a big problem. Also from what I know it has not been solved in Captivate 4 either. I hope they solve this problem soon.

Robbie,

Captivate and Articulate work fine in my LMS. What exactly are the issues? There are some limitations on how Captivate interacts with an LMS that has nothing to do with the LMS itself.

Hi Carol

lots of issues surrounding tracking, bookmarking and reliable MI. Could we possibly take this off line; there used to be a method to accomplish that in the old style forum - not sure if we can do it here. Otherwise I'll let you have my email address. Is that OK?

Hi Robbie,

I can help you with what data comes out of Captivate but of course I can't help you with what your LMS does with it.

First off does your LMS have any debugging/tracing features so you can see what actual data goes back and forth?

Have you asked the LMS vendor for help?

My LMS is WBT Manager.
