I'm trying to transfer files from Cp3 to Cp5 and need Cp4 to make the move.  I've been searching everywhere and cannot find a trial or software available for purchase.  Any help?

DessemE,

I recently  upgraded about 80 projects that were originally created in Cp3 (badly I must say) into Cp5 - there were some issues with the quiz elements that caused problems on the upload and some issues with the fonts (resolved by modifiying the styles) but apart from that they came across generally OK. I did not used Cp4 once in the process. What is causing the issue that leads you to do a two stage process?

I have just transfered 10 projects from Cp3 to Cp5. The projects were absolutely trashed in the process.

Examples:

  • Slides display at different sizes.
  • Text boxes have moved.
  • Slides are all fuzzy (they were nice and crisp in Cap 3).
  • Some things are just plain odd (see fig 1 and 2)

fig 1 How the slide looks in Captivate (text in centre of page)

fig 2 How the slide plays in web page (text at bottom of page)

  • Weird timing issues. Example a slide that is supposed to play for 3 seconds displays for the blink of eye (well less than 3 seconds anyway).
  • Text animation seems to have changed from "Art Deco" to "Aquarium". People want to know why all of a sudden their presentations are full of animated fish.

Did you have to change anything in Cp3 before opening them in Cp5?
