Captivate 4 - image button transparency issue

I am using Captivate 4.

This happens occassionally:

I want to insert an image button ("Continue", the blue one that comes with Captivate 4). And I want it to be transparent around the edges, so I click the "Transparent buttons" checkbox and click OK. The button goes in (it shows up on the Timeline) but the entire button is transparent, not just the edges. However, when I preview it, it is correct and only the edges are transparent. I've seen this happen before and it suddenly started working correctly again (??? not sure why).

I've shut down Captivate and restarted. Image buttons are still transparent. I've tried rebooting, image buttons still transparent. I've tried turning on and off back and forth the transparency, the button shows up when the checkbox is not selected like it's suppose to but when that checkbox is selected, the entire button is transparent.

It's more of an annoyance than anything since it shows up correctly in Preview and once it's generated with Publish. But it makes it more difficult when editing because I can't see if there is a button in there or not (unless I click around the area or look in the Timeline).

Has anyone else seen this happen?

Does anyone know a solution for this issue?

I'm afrad you are confusing how Captivate buttons work. In Cp you have three types of buttons available.  A text button, a transparent button (basically an invisible text button), and an image button.

By changing your button type to Transparent, you did not add transparency to your Image button, you just changed from an image button to another type of button that does not have a visible background.

If you want a particular colour in your image buttons to be rendered as transparent, you need to do this in the original graphics file. For example, you can have transparency in GIF files and PNG files.

You can make a particular colour in an image transparent in Captivate via the eyedropper tool in the image Properties area.  But this same tool is not available for image buttons.
