Captivate 5.5 FMR Editing Issue

I'm suddenly unable to use the FMR Edit options to split or trim slides. The “Snap to Playhead” button isn’t working and when I manually key in a split point, and click “Split,” the Splitting SWF progress window displays for a fraction of second and disappears, but my slide remains untouched. The Insert option seems to be working, with the exception of the "Snap to Playhead" button. The issue is not isolated to a specific slide or project, but seems to be an issue with the Captivate software. Any ideas on how I might resolve this issue? It worked fine yesterday.

I'm running Captivate 5.5. on a PC with Windows 7, Service Pack 1

So far, I've tried, without any success:

  • Editing other projects
  • Copying the slides to a new project
  • Resetting my workspace
  • Restarting my computer
  • Clearing out my Captivate project cache
  • Deleting my Captivate preferences folder

Update - my issue was caused by a Windows patch that didn't install correctly. I contacted my IT department and they re-pushed it. Everything seems to be working correctly now.

Have you tried deleting the contents of the video cache?

Look for the location of this cache in Edit > Preferences > Recording > Video > Working Folder (it might be under a slightly different name in Cp5x)

Thanks for the quick response. I've tried that and it didn't work either.
