Captivate 5 crashes at startup with Font Capture error

I have been using Captivate 5 for months now. After figuring out how to deal with project cache, I had no major issues till now.

Whenever I try to start Captivate - it immediately crashes with this error - no Captivate logo - just this error instantly:

Clicking either OK or Cancel does nothing and the Captivate process immediately disappears.

This occurred after Captivate locked up during a file save operation and I had to reboot entirely - couldn't even bring up task manager.

I am running Windows XP on a dual core 2.3 Ghz

I have tried re-installing captivate, but the issue still comes back regardless. What is Font Capture and how do I get rid of it or get it to re-install so I can run Captivate again?

Thanks for the post... I found similiar posts about new fonts being installed that caused Captivate to crash, but I haven't installed any fonts on this computer. I had checked with IT and nothing new there either.

But removing the following folder allowed me to launch again.

C:\Documents and Settings\{user}\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\Captivate 5

My question is why didn't doing an uninstall / re-install clear out that directory. Maybe something with my file permissions or something. More a question for my IT group.

Thanks
