Captivate 5 import of InDesign CS5

I'm currently researching whether Capitvate can take an import of an InDesign CS5 file. Could I import it as a Flash file and have the controls in Captivate (play, pause, progress bar) work?

We are truying to streamline our workflow and focus strictly on Adobe tools to produce a SCORM module for our LMS. We currently use Indesign for our printed materials and want to leverage that with Captivate. I've done many searches but haven't seen many articles on this.

Any thoughts or ideas on how we can accomplish our goal?

Brad - did you ever get this sorted out?

I am trying to solve the same problem.

Captivate 5 imports Photoshop files (.psd format) and gives you the option to separate out the layers onto different layers of the Captivate timeline so that you can animate them.

Can InDesign save to PSD format?

Hi Rod,

Just FYI:

Indesign can save to PDF and to SWF (you can hava animations in it), not to PSD. I have tried to insert CP-SWF's in to InDesign, but no luck. I ended up by creating the PDF from Indesign and inserting CP-SWF's in Acrobat Pro.

If I have some time today, will try out the other way ASAP, but couldn't see in the question what will be the targeted output format: SWF or PDF? Sorry, did see now that you will export to SWF.

The main purpose will be elearning and we have a host of Flash programmers and InDesign folks who will be building the program. We actually take that content as a SWF and put it into a propritary LCMS which is costing us big money. If we could move to Captivate, we would see a huge cost savings.
