Hi.

Is there a way in Captivate 5 to prevent someone from clicking on the quiz to take it, without having gone through the content?

Hi.

Regarding preventing someone from taking the quiz without going through the content...

I decided to separate the quiz out of the project as a separate item.

We are going to use a Learning Management System which will house the module to control the access.

The LMS can be set to not allow people to click on the Quiz link, until they have gone through the content.  (So they cannot by-pass the content and just do the quiz).

I was trying to find a way to control this from within Captivate 5 and keep people from being able to click on the quiz without going through the content. (And keep the quiz inside the original project).

However, this LMS solution will work for this module.

Thanks everyone!

Hi CB.

There are a couple ways to accomplish what you're asking but mostly are dependant on how your project is structured.

Could you provide more details on how you've structured your course (navigation, branching, etc)?

sounds good.

One option you could use is an 'on enter' advanced action on the slides before the quiz (or maybe on the quiz slides themselves).  You could set variables when they've completed chunks of content, then check for that variable when they enter the quiz.  If the variable shows they did the content, they continue with the quiz.  If not, you can redirect them somewhere else.

Hope that makes sense.  Let me know what questions you have.

Hello,

How do you create navigation? Try to explain 'from clicking on the quiz'?

But even if you take control of navigation, you'll only be sure that they opened all the content slides, but not that they really watched, nor understood the content. Sorry for that,
