Captivate 5 on Win7 32 crashes for user at spash screen.

Hello,

I have a user who has captivate 5 installed on Win7 32bit. When launching the program captivate crashes at the splash screen. Captivate works fine if I am logged in as a admin. If I give the user admin rights it still crashes. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Captivate and removing any folders related to captivate. Does anyone have a solution to this issue?

Hello and welcome to the forum,

It is not sufficient to have admin rights, you have to start CP as administrator, it can be set permanently using the shortcut Properties, Advanced.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Changing the shortcut to run with admin rights just promts the user to log in with admin rights. If I log in with a admin account it works, if the user (who does not have admin rights) logs in it crashes. These users cannot have admin rights.

Unless the user is able to run the app as an administrator, it's not going to work.

Your IT people should be able to set up his/her system to have limited admin rights for just this app.
