captivate 5 program won't open... just three buttons show

Hi People

When trying to open captivate 5 all I get is the welcome screen and as soon as I try and go further I just get the three buttons showing (red, amber, green).  Everything else is totally transparent.

Any ideas?

Many thanks in advance.

It worked perfectly fine before now.  Unfortunately, now it simply comes up with a totally transparent window apart from the green, amber and red buttons i.e. minimise and close the window buttons.

This is totally frustrating, as I'm confident it's something other than the program not being compatible with the operating system.  Therefore I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this.

    Kind regards

    Hi Lilybiri

I have finally managed to find a working solution which included me going through the following process to reset my Captivate preferences, as there was obviously something corrupted.  I had to:

Go to my preferences via (users/user/library/preferences/adobe captivate 5 (whichever version) and delete that 'preferences' folder.

When I restarted the program it discovered the folder wasn't there and recreated a new one and hey presto the program started normally.  However, all my preferences were gone... included one of my most common and useful facilities of being able to simply go to 'recent' because that cache and all my other profiles had been deleted when recreating the 'preferences' folder.

I hope this helps anyone else that suffers a similar problem.

    Kind regards

On which OS? That is a pretty old version.

That is probably the issue. CP5 will not be compatible with your too recent

    OS.
